Investment company NYDIG signed a multi-year partnership with "New-York Yankees" to allow the team&rsquo;s players to convert part of their salary into Bitcoin.

Cryptocurrency lender Celsius Network Ltd. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the latest casualty of a $2 trillion crash that has wiped out some of the industry&rsquo;s biggest names and exposed hundreds of thousands of individual investors to steep losses.
The platform held about $4.3 billion of assets against $5.5 billion of liabilities as of Wednesday, according to court papers. The company has been trying to obtain new financing from third parties, but those talks made clear that a bankruptcy filing was necessary, Chief Executive Officer Alex Mashinsky said in a sworn declaration.

Layer-2 scaling platform Polygon has been selected to partake in Disney&rsquo;s 2022 Accelerator Program to build on Polygon&rsquo;s Web3 technology, which will commence this week.
Disney&rsquo;s accelerator program was first launched in 2014, the program allows participants to receive mentorship from the Disney Accelerator Team and guidance from Disney&rsquo;s own leadership team itself.
Participants will reportedly also be provided with additional investment capital and have access to co-working space at Walt Disney&rsquo;s Los Angeles campus. The program will conclude with an on-campus Demo Day.

A recently published policy brief from the United Nations recommended developing nations take action against crypto, warning of risks associated with leaving the industry unregulated.
In the document titled &ldquo;All that glitters is not gold,&rdquo; first published in June, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) stated the disadvantages posed to these nations by cryptocurrencies far outweigh the benefits they may bring to individuals and financial institutions. And the document goes as far as to suggest developing nations require the mandatory registration of all crypto wallets and ban advertisements related to cryptocurrencies.
